Unboxing & Accessories
The Muse II comes in a black package with the brand logo printed on the front cover. After removing the cover, there is the cable seated nicely on top of a soft sponge. There is a leather cable wrap for cable management. The cable wrap sports the brand name.
Cable Build & Design
The cable is made of OCC litz silver plated copper and it has a 4 core braided design. The Muse II I will be reviewing has 2 pins 0.78mm connectors and 3.5mm jack. The cable can be customized in many ways subject to the availability of the component. Each connector has a silver housing with white and red stripe on the left and right side respectively. There is strain relief. There is no memory wire are section. The chin slider has a rectangular shape with rounded sides. The y-splitter has a unique design with the brand logo printed on it. Both the chin slider and y-splitter are silver in color. The jack is not an ordinary jack but instead, it is a FT-735 jack from Furutech. The FT-735 utilizes rhodium-plated alpha phosphor bronze conductor and it has a silver housing with a winged-like pattern.
Sound Analysis (Compared to Stock Cable)
Lows
The sub-bass has similar quantity with more extension. There is an improvement in the sub-bass reproduction as it is more refined. Each bass note is articulated with extra definition and it has a higher level of precision. The mid-bass has similar body and the slam is presented with more pace. It is able to bring out the punch which helps to elevate the overall impact. The bass decay is quicker with agility. It helps to accentuate the speed of the presentation and elevates the engagement level. The bass texture is maintained. The overall bass reproduction becomes cleaner and defined.
Mids
The midrange becomes more exciting and there is a constant engagement. The lower mids has similar quantity and male vocals are presented with finesse. The upper mids benefit from the Muse II significantly and it is able to exert more forwardness. Female vocals are expressed in an intimate and clear manner. There is more crisp with sweetness. It is alluring to listen to. The level of details retrieval is better and the midrange has a boosted definition. The transparency and cleanliness faces a great improvement.
Highs
The treble faces a greater extension and the body is maintained. There is no sibilance and harshness. It operates in a brighter approach. The amount of air rendered is greater. Treble articulation is accurate and it is maintained with smoothness. There is an added crisp and the definition is enhanced significantly. The treble presentation helps to highlight the technicality aspect. It is exciting to listen to.
Soundstage
The soundstage has a similar natural expansion. The width magnitude increases greatly and it is able to provide a spacious feel. The depth is maintained with an effective amount of space. Positioning of vocals and instruments is more precise.
Conclusion
The Muse II is a fantastic silver plated copper cable that improves clarity and there is more emphasis on the top end. The sound is exciting with a high level of details retrieval. It pairs well with warmer sounding iems. Moreover, it is constructed well and comes with an exquisite Furutech jack.
