Sound Analysis (Compared to Stock Cable)
The sub-bass increases slightly with extra quantity whilst still maintaining its extension. The sub-bass reproduction becomes more controlled and tight. The additional body creates a fuller feeling without sounding too dense. There is a luscious approach. Bass texture is rendered in a smooth manner. The bass decay is slightly slower and the rumble improves with more naturalness. The mid-bass benefits with a weighted slam. Each bass note is articulated similarly as before. Overall, the bass is more smooth with warmth.
The midrange becomes sweeter with an improved lushness. It is able to execute in a silky smooth manner and contributes to a more focused midrange. The extra body plays a part in ensuring that the vocals are expressed without any signs of dryness or hollowness. The lower mids increases by a little and male vocals are expressed in a thicker manner. The upper mids has similar forwardness with a good control. Female vocals are presented in an intimate and emotional manner. The vocals performance becomes slightly laid back and it is able to give a relaxing listen.
The treble maintains its extension without any improvement but it brings extra smoothness. There is no sibilance and harshness. The amount of air has a similar magnitude with retainment of crisp and sparkle. Treble articulation is expressed with more musicality. Furthermore, the soothingness accentuates the treble presentation to be relaxing and non-fatiguing. The smooth approach is enjoyable but may lack excitement.
The soundstage expands in a more natural manner with the width magnitude being slightly greater. The depth is slightly closed in and this offers a higher intimacy level. Positioning of vocals and instruments has a good accuracy. Layering and separation maintain a similar standard.
The Stardust is an intimate sounding hybrid cable that has the ability to captivate listeners with its smooth bass, alluring midrange and relaxing treble. There is a cohesive presentation that is able to give a strong focus in the vocals aspect and emotions are expressed well. In addition, the cable has great visual appeal and it is braided well. The Cross Lambda Stardust is an excellent cable for vocals lovers.
