The bass performance on the DM6 sounds more dynamic. The midrange of the DM6 has higher transparency level while the Mini 4 is more forward. Treble presentation on the DM6 is smoother. In terms of soundstage, the DM6 has greater width and depth on Mini 4 is more closed in.

I am considering of either buying the BGVP-DM6 or a used Sony MDR-ex1000. I have heard that the DM6 is overall a better buy then EX1000. Would you say that is true? I am NOT considering how much they cost, just want to by on the merits of which of these 2 IEMs sound better overall?
LikeLike
I have not tried the EX1000 for a long time so I am unable to comment on the comparison between them. The DM6 is a solid choice nonetheless.

Hi there, read your review of the Dm6. I am looking to upgrade from a kz zs6. Was wondering how would this compare with the Hifi OSv3? or would you have any other recommendation for me. I listen mainly to Rock / post hardcore / rnb / edm
LikeLike
Hi,
Lows – The OS V3 packs extra punch and the rumble is more natural.
Mids – The midrange on the DM6 is fuller with higher intimacy level.
Highs – Treble on the DM6 is smoother than the OS V3.
Soundstage – DM6 width and depth is better.
I fee it depends on your budget at the end of the day.
Cheers!

Hi there again,
Apologies for the late reply and thanks for your input. Just wanted to ask how recessed are the mids on these? And would you recommend any other iems around this price range that deliver sufficient bass and detail for instruments and vocals?

Hi,
Lows – The NS-5 Bridge has a more dynamic expression.
Mids – The vocals presentation on the NS-5 Dream Bridge has additional forwardness and it is more musical.
Highs – Treble on the DM6 is more extended than the NS-5 Dream Bridge.
Soundstage – NS-5 width is greater and depth is similar.

Hello Audio123,
I listen mostly to classical music (60%) and jazz (25%).
My current IEM is the HiFiMan RE-400 (1 DD, neutral, slightly warm).
It is okay for small ensembles (ie. chamber music, jazz trios, etc) but I feel it is lacking in details, separation, soundstage when I listen to large orchestral works (ie. mahler, wagner, etc).
Which IEMs in the 100-200 range would you recommend?
Thank you!

Hi, there are IEMs such as the Anew U1, Magaosi MGS-401, BGVP DM6, etc. Cheers!

Nice review mate, thank you! I was wondering if you could compare DM6 to FLC8S? I own 8S and they are great for me (filters used: Red (higher subbass), gray (medium midbass), gold (higher midrange). I find FLC to be very detailed yet fun sounding with awesome separation and that spark in the treble that makes them airy. There is a lot of hype around DM6 so I just wanted to check if I should try to replace my FLC8S or not 😉

How do you think these compare to the Tin Audio T2’s?
Worth the upgrade?
I think the T2’s lacks bass, not a lot, but marginal.
I’m not a basshead, but the bass has to be present, and be able to easily recognize in the sound picture.

It is definitely worth an upgrade in my opinion.

Do you like the Dream Bridge nc5 more than the dmg6? I am treble sensitive–my favorite sound signature would be–rich full bass, warm lush midrange and not too bright in the high end.
I ordered the DM6 but am considering the NC5 …seems to be a very high quality iem- Thanks!

Hi, thanks for this informative review. I am currently using a set of Sony N3BP balanced with a Sony WM1A dap. It’s very nice, but I would like to find a similarly tuned over-ear pair of IEMS. In particular, a v-shaped tuning with excellent sub-bass detail and good treble extension, not unlike the DT770 80ohm in IEM mode. Would the DM6 be a candidate? If not, any other suggestions. Thanks!

I’ve been browsing your excellent reviews looking for an IEM that follows the same forward upper mids / highs detailed airy signature as my Toneking T4 but with a bit more impact in the lows? Can be dynamic or hybrid. Tried the TFZ King and while I liked their highs, their bass was already too emphasized for my taste. Are you able to recommend something? My budget is $250
Thanks in advance!
