Lows

The HS1650 CU has good sub-bass quantity and there is a fine extension. The sub-bass reproduction delivers a nice punch with a good engagement level. Rumble is expressed in a natural manner. Each bass note is articulated well with an incisive hit. The bass decay is quick and it excels in pacy tracks. Bass texture is rendered quite smoothly. The mid-bass has moderate quantity and the slam is expressed in an agile manner. The bass performance is impactful and captivating to listen to.

Mids

The midrange is expressed in a lively manner and it takes on a leaner approach. It commands good transparency level. The lower mids has moderate quantity and male vocals are presented well with no signs of hollow feeling. The upper mids has a little boost in the forwardness and female vocals are enhanced to sound more intimate. There is great energy for vocals reproduction.

Highs

The treble is extended well and there is no sibilance and harshness. It is presented with good details retrieval. Treble has well-defined crisp and there is a nice sparkle to liven up the overall presentation.  The amount of air rendered is great and it contributes to an airy feeling at the top end. The treble presentation has a tight control whilst still providing the vibrancy.

Soundstage

The HS1650 CU expands naturally in its stage. The width has good width magnitude and the depth is not closed in. There is a great amount of space. Positioning of vocals and instruments is accurate.
