Hi,
I have recently purchased the BGVP DM6. Which headphone do you think is better and is it worth upgrading from the DM6 to the TSMR 3?

You can refer to my comparison between DM6 and TSMR 3 in the review.
For me, the TSMR 3 is better.
Given the difference is not as night & day, it depends if you want versatility and fuller performance.
Hope this helps. Cheers! 🙂

Hi audio123,
Thanks for your swift reply! There is a youtuber by the name of “clavinetjunkie” who recently reviewed the BGVP DMG and was appalled by the sound quality. Considering the BGVP DM6 is similar in sound signature, I was wondering how the DM6 would compare to the Moondrop Kanas pro or the NS Audio NS-5? Is it worth changing the DM6 for one of these models or is there any other IEM in this price range which is worth upgrading to?
Also a good fit and noise isolation is very important for me, which is something the DM6 does very well. Will I get this from the Kanas Pro or the NS-5?

The NS-5 has better vocals performance while the Kanas Pro has better clarity overall. It depends on your preference!
DM6 has better fit and noise isolation than the Kanas Pro & NS-5.
Hope this helps. Cheers!

Hi, which one sound more like Tin audio T2 between DM6, TSMR 3, Magaosi X3 and K5 ?
I have DM6 but they have kind of recessed mid, I don’t know if others are better or worse.
Also how is the fit between them (I suppose DM6 is similar to Magaosi as they have similar shape but I don’t know for TSMR 3)

Hi, those do not sound like the T2.
In my BGVP DM6 review, I state that the midrange is slightly recessed with the silver-plated copper cable.
I would recommend either changing the cable or getting the TSMR 3.
Hope this helps. Cheers!

So amongst all of those, TSMR 3 is the best for vocal right ?
How is the fit of those compare to DM6 ?
Oh, and do TSMR 3 have better vocal than Tenhz P4 pro if you have tried them ?
Sorry for asking lot of questions, I just bought the DM6 and was a little disapointed, I don’t want to waste more money.

Yeah.
For my ears, the fit of DM6 is slightly better than TSMR 3.
I have not tried the P4 Pro.

I don’t understand. In one comment you say that the TSMR 3 is better, in the other you say that the DM6 is better.
I listen mostly instrumental music, which one would you recommend? TSMR 3, DM6, Comet, or OS v3?
Thank you!

I think you misread my comments. I mentioned “For my ears, the fit of DM6 is slightly better than TSMR 3.” while for the sound, in my opinion, the TSMR 3 is better.
I would recommend the TSMR 3. Cheers!

Thank you! I have not tried the FH5 extensively but from memory, there is better bass rumble and the presentation is thicker.

Hi again,
Do you think the sound quality difference between the Kanas Pro/NS-5 and the DM6 is worth upgrading for? I already spent a lot of money for the DM6.
Also even though sound quality is important, isolation is also a big factor. This is because I am commuting in noisy environments and the IEM’s need to be able to block out sound effectively, something the DM6 did very well. Do you think the NS-5 or the Kanas Pro can isolate well enough to travel in noisy environments without hearing a lot of noise? Also which do you think isolates the best between the NS-5 and Kanas Pro.
LikeLike
Hi, it is not night and day difference so not worth upgrading at the same price point. Dynamic driver IEMs tend to have poor noise isolation.

Thanks for the helpful advice. So in your opinion the isolation is poor when it comes to the Kanas pro and NS-5. I was also wondering how does the TSMR-3 compare to the Kanas Pro and NS-5? Does the TSMR3-3 have good isolation suitable for noisy environments? Also, I heard reports that there is a treble spike in the DM6, did you also experience this?
LikeLike
No problem. TSMR 3 has better noise isolation than the Kanas Pro and NS-5. Not really.

So the TSMR 3 has good isolation and comfort? Also, between the Kanas pro, NS-5 and TSMR 3, which one has the best audio quality?
LikeLike
Yea, it has good isolation and comfort. I feel either the Kanas Pro or TSMR 3.

Thanks again! The last thing I wanted to ask was is the TSMR 3 tuning close to the Harman curve and is it closer tuned to the Harman curve then the DM6?
Also for $200 what is the best IEM you recommend for sound quality?
LikeLike
No problem & not really. It depends on your preference!
For example, if you want
1. Lively sound with a balanced cable, iBasso IT01S.
2. Lush sound with 7 sound signatures, Tansio Mirai TSMR 3.
3. Neutral sound with shells made of zinc magnesium alloy, Moondrop Kanas Pro.

So is the DM6 not one of the best options in the $200 range and is the IT01s better?
LikeLike
It is one of the better options in the $200 range. I personally prefer the IT01s over the DM6. YMMV.
