Introduction
iBasso is a Chinese brand that is known for their digital audio players (DAPs). Their latest IEM release is the AM05. I would like to thank iBasso for providing the AM05 as a review unit. At the moment, the AM05 can be purchased from iBasso or Penon Audio.

Unboxing & Accessories
The AM05 comes in a blue package that has the iBasso logo printed on the front. It has a white protective cover that sports the iBasso logo and the words – “AM05 Five Balanced Armature Driver In-Ear Monitor”. There are specifications printed at the back of the cover. After opening the blue package, there are the AM05, 2.5mm Balanced MMCX cable, 2.5mm Balanced to 3.5mm Single Ended cable adapter, circular hard case, tips, warranty card and quick start guide.

The AM05 has a higher level of resolution with less bass, clearer midrange & airier treble. Cheers!

Hi, great review of AM05. Would you consider this one being an upgrade or sidegrade to ISN H40?

Can you compare this AM05 vs IT01S in terms of soundstage, imagine, bass decay and treble extended ?

IT01S has quicker bass decay, AM05 has more upfront midrange & IT01S has extra sparkle while AM05 has a smoother presentation. The soundstage on both is quite similar. Cheers!

Hello, thanks for interesting read! Can you say if you’ll consider AM05 an upgrade to IT01S or are they on par, just different sound tone? Is the nozzle the same diameter in AM05 compared to IT01S? Thanks!
